Please ensure that the skin and wax work well together. The wax must be able to grip the hair in order to remove it thoroughly.
Therefore, please do not:
- apply cream shortly beforehand
- appear sweaty
- have been in the blazing sun or in a solarium on the same day
A stronger peeling 1-2 days BEFORE the waxing appointment is beneficial, so that old skin cells are removed and even small, fine hairs “stand free”.
How short or long should the hair ideally be for waxing?
At least 4 mm. Better “terribly” long than too short.
It is better to let your hair grow a little longer so that the waxing treatment can remove as much hair as possible. Unfortunately, hair does not always grow evenly, and so some hairs are usually shorter and harder to remove if the certain length of around 4 mm has not yet been reached. The longer the hair, the better the waxing.
How long are you hair-free?
Depending on hair type, on average 2-5 weeks.
The hair root stores the information that the hair should grow at a certain thickness in this part of the body. Body hair was evolutionarily seen as protection for our skin, but modern aesthetic sensibilities strive for a hair-free body. If you have shaved up to now, your hair roots are still strong and the hair will probably grow back relatively quickly after the first waxing. However, it will grow back and the soft tip of the hair will be the first to come through the skin, creating a softer feeling than after shaving, when the first stubble is quickly perceived as bristly. After waxing several times, the hair will grow back permanently finer and sparser, the hair root will give up at some point, so to speak, and with each waxing you will come a little closer to your goal of a permanently hair-free body.
